Federal State Institution \"National Library of Russia\" (NLR), founded in 1795, it is one of the greatest national libraries of the world and also the especially valuable object of cultural heritage of Russian people. Library\'s collections (more than 34 millions items) hold the unique manuscripts, printed and other documents in all languages. That is why NLR can satisfy the various information needs in areas of science, manufacture, education and culture, render services in the regime of local and remote access.
NLR has comfortable, specially equipped halls for the organization of cultural and educational events, meetings and conferences. National Library of Russia is the member of several international organizations (IFLA, CERL, LIBER etc.) The headquarters of the Russian Library Association is placed in NLR.
