This hotel is situated on a small island granted by Peter I to a mill owner Matisov for his great services to Russia during the Northern War. Built in 1993, it enjoys the reputation of being a very comfortable and serene hotel. In 2000 the courtyard of the hotel was marked as the best one in St. Petersburg. This hotel was twice nominated a winner of the contest 'The Best Program of the Hotel's Services Development in St. Petersburg'. The famous Mariinsky theater is only 10 minutes walk from this hotel.
