You will see the streets the great persons of the past used to walk along, the masterpieces created by the genies of the bygone epoch, and you will realize why St. Petersburg is regarded a 'holy city' in the history of Russia.

Day 1
|
Arrival in St. Petersburg, transfer to hotel, check-in, sightseeing tour - the first acquaintance with the "Venice of the North", a "vodka stop"; dinner in a downtown restaurant.

Day 2
|
Breakfast, sightseeing tour of the city including a visit to Kuznetchny farmers market; visit to the museum of the great novelist Feodor Dostoyevsky, the apartment where he wrote his world famous books, and where he died. The guests go by metro to the Alexander Nevsky Cloisters where Dostoyevsky and other celebrated writers, poets, artists, musicians, and composers were buried. (a bus is parked by the Cloisters). Dinner is served at the "Literaturnoye Cafe" that was for many decades a popular meeting place for many Russian celebrities including Pushkin and Dostoyevsky.

Day 3
|
Breakfast, trip to Tsarskoye Selo, a former summer residence of the Russian Tsars, also closely associated with life and creative work of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, the initiator of the Russian literature and of the Russian literary language. Visit to the Lyceum where the poet studied and wrote his first verses, to the house where he and his wife Natalie spent the happiest year of their lives. A walk through the beautiful romantic park glorified by Pushkin in one of his first verses. Lunch in a stylish restaurant. Return to St. Petersburg to visit the last apartment of the poet - on the bank of the Moyka River where he died being mortally wounded during the duel.

Day 4
|
Breakfast, trip to Novgorod; on the way to the land of legendary Sadko you will see the typical landscape of the Russian North, will pass various Russian villages, will learn a lot about the thousand year history of this former Hansa city that stood in the trade way from the Varangians to the Greeks, and will hear many historic legends associated with the oldest Russian city. Arrival in Novgorod, check-in at hotel, lunch in a downtown restaurant, Sightseeing tour of Novgorod including a visit to the Kremlin and to the Cathedral of St. Sophia. Trip to Yuri's Monastery situated by the Ilmen Lake; visit to the museum of the wooden architecture in the open air. Dinner.

Day 5
|
Breakfast, departure to Staraya Russa, (90 km away from Novgorod) the town that is associated with Feodor Dostoyevsky. It was here that the writer created his world-renowned novel "The Brothers Karamazov", stories "Demons" and "Teenager". Return to Novgorod after a visit to the local church of St. George. Lunch in a downtown restaurant. Return to St. Petersburg, check-in at hotel, dinner.

Breakfast, transfer to the airport, departure.
