The 16-storey hotel was opened in 1979. According to the original design more buildings are to be built to make a huge hotel complex on the same premises. The hotel is located nearby the Neva River, the main waterway of the city, opposite one of the city's landmarks - Smolny Cathedral. The nearest metro stations 'Alexander Nevsky Square' and 'Novocherkasskaya' are within 10 minutes drive by car.
