Shalyapin Museum
This is the first museum opened in Russia (1975) in tribute to the world-famous singer.
The museum is in the apartment where Fyodor Shalyapin lived with his family until he immigrated to France in 1922. Fully restored in 1991-1998, the museum describes the most important periods of life and work of the singer. The permanent collection displays Shalyapin’s private belongings and costumes. Of special interest and artistic value are the pictures by the prominent Russian artists (K.Korovin, B.Kustodiev and others) portraying Shalyapin in real life and on stage.
