Train tickets prices in Russia will become dynamic
03.12.2012

Starting from 2013 the price of train tickets in Russia will depend on the date of purchase and demand - in the same fashion as it is common for the plane tickets. The earlier from the date of the planned journey you buy the ticked, the cheaper it will be. Ideally the price of the 2-nd class (kupe) , will be almost similar to the 3-rd class (platscart) if you get the ticket well in advance.
Starting from 16 January the ticket sales according to the new system will be introduced on the trains from Moscow to St.Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh and Smolensk - altogether 44 trains with departures starting from 1 March.
The later you buy the ticket, the heavier it'll be on your budget. The last minute travellers will pay more, then they do in the current system of ticket sales.
By the peak summer season most of the popular destinations will be embraced by the new tariff system. All trains, including international, will be shifted to the new system by 2015.
